Additional Minerals Reporting Template (AMRT)
The Additional Minerals Reporting Template (AMRT) is the successor to the Pilot Reporting Template (PRT), set to be released as version 1.2 on October 4, 2024. This new template will expand upon the PRT's capabilities, providing enhanced tools for compliance reporting and mineral sourcing. AMRT aims to streamline the documentation process for companies, ensuring adherence to evolving regulations while promoting responsible sourcing practices in the mineral supply chain.
Benefits and Goals of the Additional Minerals Reporting Template (AMRT)
While the Conflict Minerals Reporting Template (CMRT) is specifically designed to address the sourcing of tin, tantalum, tungsten, and gold (3TG), and the Extended Minerals Reporting Template (EMRT) extends coverage to cobalt and mica, the Additional Minerals Reporting Template (AMRT) offers a standardized framework for capturing and managing supply chain information for other essential or high-risk materials, such as copper, nickel, or lithium.
This template aids organizations in meticulously documenting the origin, chain of custody, and due diligence efforts pertaining to these minerals. It plays a crucial role in promoting transparency and ensuring adherence to global standards. The AMRT is increasingly adopted by companies aiming to bolster their supply chain accountability and comply with the upcoming regulatory demands.

The forthcoming release of the AMRT version 1.2 file is scheduled for October 4, 2024. Beyond adopting a new name, the sole modification from the prior PRT 1.1 version is the incorporation of support for the German language.

AMRT - Version Overview
The AMRT (including PRT) version history offers a comprehensive overview, detailing the evolution and enhancements across all iterations.
The PRT 1.0 (Pilot Reporting Template)
The PRT 1.0, released by the Responsible Minerals Initiative (RMI) in November 2022, serves as a pivotal tool in advancing the responsible sourcing of minerals. The main purpose of the Pilot Reporting Template (PRT) was to facilitate the collection of information about the source and chain of custody of minerals beyond the original conflict minerals covered by the standard Conflict Minerals Reporting Template (CMRT) or the Extended Minerals Reporting Template (EMRT).
Key Features and Benefits of the PRT 1.0:
Expand Beyond 3TG: The PRT was designed to track minerals beyond the traditional "3TG" (tin, tantalum, tungsten, and gold), especially focusing on copper, nickel or lithium and other minerals that are critical to responsible sourcing
Support Due Diligence: It helped companies conduct due diligence on their supply chains in alignment with international standards like the OECD Due Diligence Guidance for responsible sourcing of minerals from conflict-affected and high-risk areas
Improve Transparency: By providing a standardized format, the PRT improved the transparency and traceability of minerals through the supply chain
Pilot Program: It was also a pilot tool to assess the feasibility and practicality of collecting such information across various industries, helping the RMI and its stakeholders refine future tools
PRT 1.01 was released in December 2022 with a key update focused on improving compatibility with different Excel versions, particularly resolving issues experienced with Excel 2019 in version 1.0. This was a minor technical enhancement, ensuring better usability, but did not introduce major changes to the functionality or reporting scope of the template.
The changes introduced in PRT v. 1.1, released on October 27, 2023, include several enhancements and fixes:
- Addition of Mine List and Minerals Scope tabs, offering improved tracking of mines and defining the scope of minerals
- Updates to definitions on the Definitions tab for clarity and consistency
- Refinements to mineral/metal input on the Declaration tab, making it easier to input accurate data
- Corrections to required fields on the Declaration and Checker tabs, ensuring the correct fields are filled for better reporting accuracy
- Translation improvements and fixes to correct existing errors and enhance the usability across languages
The Pilot Reporting Template (PRT) has been renamed to the Additional Minerals Reporting Template (AMRT), with version 1.2 officially released on October 4, 2024. This marks the transition of the template from its "pilot" phase, reflecting its broader and more formal adoption. The main changes in AMRT v.1.2 compared to PRT v.1.1 include:
- The addition of German language support, expanding its accessibility
- No other functional changes were made beyond the rebranding and language update

Additionally, the RMI has announced that four new minerals—copper, graphite (natural), lithium, and nickel—will be added to the Extended Minerals Reporting Template (EMRT). This expansion, set for the EMRT 2.0 release in April 2025, will also introduce an optional mine-level facility tab, similar to the one offered in PRT 1.1. This update aims to support companies' compliance with the EU Battery Regulation and improve supply chain transparency. By broadening the EMRT’s scope, the RMI hopes to identify new participants for the RMAP assessments and further strengthen supply chain assurance efforts.
